Bologna Welcomes the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Travelling Exhibition
The travelling yellow tent of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers has opened in Bologna, where the exhibition will remain through 8 September.
Around 100 people attended the opening, including representatives of communities assisted by Volunteer Ministers after natural disasters.
Among them was Pianoro Mayor Luca Vecchiettini, who remembered the practical disaster response help received by his community following the 2024 floods. Restaurateur Fabrizio Lazzarini also recalled the Volunteer Ministers helping his business recover after the flooding.
Andrea Ferrarini, formerly involved with civil protection in Bondeno, recalled Volunteer Ministers helping communities following the 2012 Emilia earthquake.
Created in 1976 by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, the programme combines community assistance with disaster-response activities.
Inside the Bologna tent, visitors can explore photographic exhibits and information about the programme while learning about methods addressing communication, education, relationships and everyday challenges.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, described the Bologna initiative as an expression of European values of solidarity, human dignity and community responsibility.
The yellow tent shows how the Volunteer Ministers programme combines emergency response with practical help for daily challenges.
